  6.         Modem-stats may be used to gather modem link statistics
  7.         after the termination of a ppp or slip connection.
  8.         Modem-stats may also be used to reset a modem,
  9.         or send an initialization string to a modem.
  10. Caveat:        Modem-stats won't work with mgetty(1).
  11.         Instead, use the mgetty.modem-stats.patch.
